In order to help cut down on initial costs, it was mentioned to me that you could get the "Dual Axis Controller" version of a mount. Then at a later time or possibly for cheaper (since laptops are inexpensive now) make your laptop your GoTo controller with the aid of a planetarium program.
Does anyone have experience with this?
Would you reccomend it?
Could you explain to me how to do it?
Know of any websites explaing this?
Thanks,

Location: Lakeland, FL | If using the atlas mount, you load eqmod on the laptop and use cartes de cuel for your planetarium. Then get the eqdir from shoestring astronomy. Total cost for using your computer for goto is about 39.00 for the eqdir. Works great. |
