And this time, it's the Super Bowl! This was the first clear night I've had in a while, but had to watch our Saints upend the Colts. The live shots on Bourbon St. looked just like Fat Tuesday. WHO DAT!

Who dat say they can beat them saints?

I just returned from a Super Bowl party. Twenty to 30 of us have gotten together for the Super Bowl for 12 years. This was the first time everyone rooted for the same team. We all left the party happy.

This was the best Super Bowl of all time, and The Who knocked it out of the park at halftime.

This is a big reason why it's so important to our region:

About 4.5 years ago, this community was turned upside down. When we were at our lowest, the Saints came back to the community and has been a rallying point for an otherwise distressed community. Besides, we love football.

To david p and all here on the forum:

my recent retort re: the super bowl outcome...
please accept my most humble apologizies if i have offended anyone...
it was not ment to degrade the fine people, nor the great city of N. O....
i have always felt deep sympathy for those in need, and have tried to
help in any way, when i can... be it food, clotheing, or financial aid...
my disdain for american football stems back into my youth, when as a
child, i was not considered usable for most sports teams, and as such
have not looked upon team spirit as a good thing... be as it may, that
is my phobia, and i'm working on it...

this forum has taught me a great many things, and i am greatfull for
that... it ,also, gives me a place to come and learn about the vast
universe that we all share an interest in as well...

with best wishes to all, your friend, craig allan bruce

There was no offense taken and I know there are those that could care less about football or baseball or whatever. But the case of the Saints and the community in which it is involved, it's unique among sports franchises. It says something when a team from Indiana and a team from Louisiana, not from the east coast or the west coast, are in the Super Bowl and the TV audience displaces the final episode of MASH to become the most watched TV show in history. The story of this season took on a personality of its own. Some call it destiny. Whatever, you've got to admit that it's a story that has made a lasting impression on a lot of people.

There were appx. 20,000 people at the airport to greet the upon their return this afternoon. There's a parade for the team tomorrow. I can tell you that it will rival any Mardi Gras parade in stature. And Drew Brees is the Grand Marshal for Baachus and Coach Payton is the Grand Marshal of Orpheus, the two largest parades celebrating Carnival. And, again, you can bet that the crowds will be unprecidented.

Anyway, there's no harm done and no offense taken. It's the culmination of 43 years of "wait 'til next year". It was a great ride this season and it's one for the ages. WHO DAT!
