Can Anyone identify what this telescope is, and what it might be worth? It is made by Meade, and the tube measures just over 9" long. The lens is 4" wide, and says "Meade Schmidt Cassegrain f/10, D=102mm F=1000mm Coated Optics". The only sticker on the telescope says 4-4595.

The telescope is in an aluminum box with cut out foam and has a filter for the sun and a couple of eyepieces. I bought it off craigslist for no particular reason, and haven't been able to find any information on it. The tripod came with it too.

Thanks!

Thanks for the link to the blue book. It seems most similar to the 2045S model of the meade. Anyone know what it might be worth?

You can remove images from a thread yourself, reprocess them or what ever, and reinstall them.
I did it for you, please keep images such as these were at about 640 pixels wide.

John's shrinking the 800 pixel-wide limit on us! hehehe.... (I cheat sometimes and go with the original 848-pixel-wide that my camera gives me )

800 or so is probably good for the regular forums I'd think.
I imagine most people monitors now would handle it.
When you get up over 2000 then it gets bad for everyone because it causes the whole thread to have to be scrolled back and forth.
We're really lucky that Daniel has provided us with a forum that can handle a lot of big images.

Yup, that is definitely a Meade 2045 minus the fork arms. I saw one mounted in the forks, with all the accessories and extra eyepieces go for $300 awhile back.
This bare OTA is probably worth about $100 give or take. Hard to say without taking a long look at the optics, cosmetics and mechanicals.

Yeah, John, the "or so" always seemed to give me a lil leeway....

I didn't wanna degrade my image by reducing it's size, so I kept it at 848.... But you know what happens when you go past 1600 wide.... the forum stretches and you can't see buttons. A lot of forums, these days, automatically resize images, if they are too large.... Hint, hint....

Anyways... whatever the name of the scope is, it seems like a cool lil scope! I wouldn't mind having one, that's for sure.

I don't know what that scope would be. I'm thinking it's before the 2045.
Around 1980 Meade started making some SCTs and only made a 4 inch size for a short period of time.
Some guys who really know that old Meade stuff would help.
Seems like I read somewhere that there were some 3 digit numbers used in the very beginning.
I dunno.
